Hello, I live in York, near the Fulford barracks. Anthony Lefroy’s father – also Anthony, was barrack master here, and was formerly a captain of the 56 regiment. He was married to Elizabeth Wilkin, daughter of a ‘gentelman ‘ from Appleby, Westmoorland. The Lefroy family, who were French Huguenot origin, lived in Co. Cork.
Anthony Lefroy did not move to York until 1818, so his son must have been born elsewhere in the country.
