Brand new Police Station built at Almondsbury to cover the M5 motorway and also the M4 from the Severn Bridge to the Wiltshire border. When Avon and Somerset Constabulary was formed during the boundary changes of 1974, Gloucestershire Constabulary covered the M5 to junction 14 Falfield. (Gloucestershire Police Archives URN 2474)
