Warrant No 2598, Joined 11th July1877 age 20, Height 5ft 8¼, Occupation Labourer, Born Coaley, Gloucestershire.

Promoted Sergeant 1st November 1891.
Promoted Inspector 1st November 1901.
Promoted 2nd Class Superintendent 1st November 1904.
Promoted 1st Class Superintendent 1st November 1911.

During his police service he served in Cheltenham, Gloucester, Stroud, Painswick, Iron Acton, Coleford and Lydney.

27th June 1878 Being asleep on his beat when on night duty at Gloucester.
This being the first report against this constable I will not punish him. He is warned as to his future conduct.
29th June 1878 Henry Christian

16th August 1878 Being under the influence of liquor and not properly patrolling his beat when on night duty at Gloucester.
I have frequently had to caution Constable Griffin relating to the careless manner in which he performs his duties and I now seriously warn him that if he does not improve the Chief Constable will in all probability dispense with his services. For the present offence he will be kept in the 6th class for three months longer and at the exception of that period the Superintendent will report upon his conduct. 20th August 1878 Edward Thomas Chipp Deputy Chief Constable.

6th April 1892 Neglect of duty at the Gloucester the session by being absent for 20 minutes when called upon to give evidence whereupon the recorder discharged the prisoner and disallowed the case.
I ought in strictness to reduce this man for this gross neglect of duty. In consideration of the previous good conduct I will not however do so. He is fined three days pay. 17th April 1892 Henry Christian.

Awarded the Police Coronation Medal. Medals were presented on 17th August 1912 by Lord Ducie The Lord Lieutenant. The Coronation Medal was awarded to officers who were serving on 26th June 1911, 1 in every 20 men in the force were selected for their long and meritorious service.

Pensioned 15th November 1921.

Died 18th October 1839.
