A TV mini series, A Piece of Cake, was filmed at South Cerney Airfield in 1988. PC Kay and I were present when the film crew were having a break. We were given permission to park the Cirencester Area Car E928KAD next to a WW II Mitchell B25.

South Cerney at the time had an RAF Air Cadet lodger unit, 625 Volunteer Gliding School. Our admin base was the control tower. Our 5 Viking T1 gliders were in a single hanger. We flew weekends and during course periods. The OC was Sqn Ldr Phil Tancell RAFVR(T). The set production sandbagged the entrance to the tower as a prop but constructed it wrongly. I always remember that.
