Windrush Police Station 1985. The original Police Station was opposite Windrush Village Green, which was sold on as a house . I remember the householder there telling me that his substantial bathroom door was the original cell door. I'm uncertain of the date that this newer Police House and Station was built, but I understand that at the time there was some local consternation about Windrush and the surrounding four villages not having a police presence. Consequently, Lord Sherborne gave the Constabulary the land so that the 'Officer in Charge' status would be maintained. (Gloucestershire Police Archives URN 10709)
