Gloucestershire Police Male Voice Choir

I’ve followed this site for several years and find the content fascinating, and although I’ve made comments when a question has been posed I’ve never got round to registering until now

I was a Special (2062) in Gloucestershire, serving from 1975-86 (Gloucester and Tutshill), and then in Avon and Somerset (6212) from 1986-2021 (Banwell, Weston-s-Mare and Bristol Airport), retiring at 65. I remember Geoff Sindrey, and group member – he was a very helpful Police Constable (880?) in Gloucester when I started and Inspector at Lydney when I transferred to Avon and Somerset. Whilst in Gloucestershire I was a member of the Male Voice Choir 1978-84, and have found a photo on archive URN 386 prior to departure of some of us who went on our first tour – Scotland. I’ve managed to put the names down that I can remember.

Many of those on photo will of course be departed by now – but some of the younger ones will still be around if not with choir. John Pockett I know lives not far away from me in Somerset and we re-met 30yrs on – singing in a choir.
