The Cheltenham Odeon was the venue on Friday November 1st 1963

The smiling officer, David Baker, was pictured outside the cinema; David remembers it well. “That it was me on duty outside the Cinema on the day of the Beatles appearance in Cheltenham, being detailed to assist other officers in controlling the crowds ( mainly screaming girls). I also had the good fortune to be posted in the cinema prior to the concert and met John Lennon and Paul McCartney. At the end of the Beatles performance I was put in a van with three other officers, acting as a decoy for the Beatles get away we sped away “.
